Congratulations to the 2017 green ribbon awards winners

Welcome to the 27th annual Green Ribbon Awards, held to recognise outstanding contributions by individuals, communities and organisations to protect and manage New Zealand’s environment.

We are delighted to congratulate the 2017 winners with special mention of the Supreme Winner: Hawke’s Bay-based Whangawehi Catchment Management Group, a collaborative initiative between iwi, councils and the community to restore their local waterway.

This year’s category winners represent a cross-section of environmental projects and programmes happening across the country – from communities protecting local eco-systems to big businesses transforming their processes. Read on to discover how Kiwis are stepping up to protect our environment for generations to come.
